| Description: | Blending art, ecology, and storytelling, The Enchanted Nightscape draws viewers into the fragile networks of life that define the Western Ghats beyond what meets the eye. Created by Svabhu Kohli and MYLES, this immersive installation brings to the forefront species and ecosystems that often remain in the shadows—unseen, unnamed, and under-acknowledged in popular imaginations of a forest. Audiences are invited into a nocturnal world lit by bioluminescent spores, guided by the flicker of moths and the quiet hum of night-pollinators. Through this experience, they encounter species from habitats like ephemeral ponds, laterite plateaus, and mangroves, each one revealing delicate ecological roles—from pollination to seed dispersal and soil regeneration. Featuring 15 endemic plants and over 25 lesser-known species of flora and fauna, The Enchanted Nightscape offers a shift in perspective. It challenges us to move beyond simplified imaginations of wilderness and instead listen to the quieter voices that make up its fabric—organisms often called eerie, invisible, or irrelevant. Presented by Conscious Collective, an initiative by Godrej Design Lab in collaboration with the Soonabai Pirojsha Godrej Foundation, the installation becomes an invitation to reimagine how we see, relate to, and protect the worlds within our forests. |
