Description: BANGALOREAN reveals the human side of Bangalore’s transformation — from Pensioners’ Paradise to India’s Silicon Valley — through the voices of 80 individuals from diverse walks of life.

COVER
Bold and typographic, the cover reflects the shared identity of the many who call themselves BANGALOREAN. Green evokes the “garden city” we hope to preserve. The deep green fabric nods to tradition, while glossy foil-stamped letters express the spirit of a new Bangalore. A blank frame on the back quietly invites the reader’s reflection — a space for untold stories.

BOOK LAYOUT
The book is divided into two parts, echoing how we encounter people in a city. In Part 1, stark black-and-white portraits command attention — every detail visible, yet no story revealed. Part 2 brings the stories to life with text and journalistic images, captured in the subjects’ own environments.

STORY SEQUENCE
The sequence invites meaningful, sometimes unexpected, connections. For example, three strong women, from very different circumstances — Kiran Mazumdar, Roopa Moudgil, and Kamala — appear in succession. Or the gentle gazes of Asha Rao and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The Brahmin Elder and the Mullah sit side by side — a quiet commentary on shared space and identity.
