| Description: | At the India Pavilion in the World Expo, cultural storytelling was embedded into the architecture and space design —12 zones, 100+ artefacts, and 4+ hours of multimedia content forming an immersive journey. But with limited visitor time, spatial constraints, and a bilingual audience (English & Japanese), the challenge was to make this rich narrative accessible, personal, and memorable. We designed a multi‑pronged digital layer to seamlessly integrate with the Pavilion’s physical space: 1. Bilingual Touchscreen Wayfinding App – A self‑service welcome kiosk for orientation, live cultural programme updates, and must‑see exhibit highlights. 2. QR‑Based Digital Library – Mobile‑first, no‑login access to bilingual stories, videos, audio, and downloads for each artefact cluster, extending engagement beyond the visit. 3. Threaded Frequencies – A touch‑sensitive e‑textile in the Innovative Bharat Zone triggering authentic craft sounds, connected to a MultiTaction Table revealing their origins and techniques. Prototyping and bilingual testing refined usability, reduced scanning fatigue, and optimised tactile interactions. The result was an inclusive, barrier‑free digital experience that reframed innovation as a continuum — linking ancient craft intelligence with cutting‑edge technology — and ensured every visitor could connect deeply with India’s story, whether they had five minutes or fifty. |
