| Description: | The Svatantra brand manual is created as a Constitution that enshrines the ideals of financial self-determination. For its cover, we wanted to celebrate the everyday entrepreneur as the true architect of India’s economy. Created in a finely rendered woodcut style and reproduced in gold against a black background, the cover features a detailed tableau of various entrepreneurs at work. In a bold visual move, the map of India is formed through negative space, shaped by those who build it. Each figure is drawn from life: the tea-seller pouring his brew, the woman carrying produce, the farmer on a tractor. We called them ‘Portraits of Pursuit’ with each one chosen to reflect the vocations that fuel India’s growth at the grassroots. The choice of woodcut style is deliberate. It carries the depth and texture of heritage prints and currency seals, giving gravitas to the smallest details, from the bend of a road to the rays of a rising sun. The illustration frames a world built from the ground up, where each element captures the progress of ambition. As the cover of a document of belief, it pays homage to those who build quietly and shape our nation every day. |
